Anna Elizabeth Blackler was born August 26 1906 in Colorado Springs Colorado. Her parents were Harvey Storing Blackler and Laura Clara Kelchner. She had two sisters Lois Marie Blackler, my grandma, and Edith Mae Blackler. (The picture is the earliest and only picture I have of the girls with their parents. I believe Grandma Nihart made the girls clothing and most likely her own skirt and shirt, she was a professional seamstress.)Her parents divorced when she was a young girl. She and her sisters ended up in an orphanage for time. She shared stories about that experience which I will share in a future post.
Ann died May 13th 2000, she lived to see the new century. She had many experiences during her long life that is what I would like to share about her. After Aunt Anne passed away I was able to go through her belongings. I looked for anything that had to do with family history. I found so many things. She never threw anything away. I will add them as I tell her story.
