Updating Information to my Family History Collection

It's been a very long time since I've worked on my family history. I scanned a few documents and a picture I have. I got them from Aunt Anne's home in Reseda after she passed away. 

On the back of this picture it says Brothers Harry, Marion, Luther and Lucy. These are the children of Daniel S. Kelchner and Dora E. (Bussard) Kelchner.

 

 The story below was an account given by Ruth Blackler Hoisington, it is written about her Grandpa John Blackler and mentions her father Harry Blackler. I'm not sure where I got this letter from. It may have been for Coral Cottrell a distant cousin, who faithfully did her family history.

 

 I hope to spend a bit more time updating this blog. Emily mentioned it's one thing to know names and important dates of our ancestors. But it this memorabilia that helps connects us to the people they were.  

Anne gave me this album many years ago. I had her identify as many as she knew. She also gave me ages as she remembered them. Some I figured out based on dates on the pictures. There are a lot of pictures and it will take me some time to scan them so check back for updates. I hadn't thought about this album until just the other day I was looking for a picture of the Hindenberg that I thought I remembered was in here. Now I have to look for a possible other album. As my mom always say write on your pictures. It gives you a base for ages and times. I am guilty of not doing that.

I love this picture of Aunt Anne. See how she is holding the apple even as an old lady she held her hand that very same way.

Laura is Great Grandma Nihart her mother died when she was young and she married at the age of 16. These are her brothers and sister.
